Some various Super GT shots with the DA 55-300 (non-WR version):

The lens is a joy to use for Motorsports due to is small size, especially when you see Canon and Nikon shooters lugging around their heavy lenses.
Those professional sports lenses might be far superior in image quality I am sure, but not needed for my limited abilities in any case.
Even though the lens is not the fastest for focusing, I think only for 1 out of 100 shots I actually missed the focus and had to wait for the next car or the next round.
For those types of panning shots (where you want to stop down anyhow, to achieve a slow enough shutter speed), it is the perfect lens!

Interesting shot, Shiner. Tack sharp, too. Freddy

Two more from last weekend outing
Both with K30 and HD DA 55-300.
The second one is near a 100% crop!

My shots yesterday with DA 55-300 lens

Finally made my annual visit to Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. Here are a few of the shots I took. I wanted to see how good closeup shots look from this lens on my K30. Comments welcome. Freddy

Thanks, Hatti. All in all I was very pleased with the way my DA55-300 performed. It can cover a very nice range of focal lengths.
One problem I ran into: About 3 or four times my camera didn't fire after focus confirmed. I got kind of a gray curtain in front of my lens.
Anybody else have that experience. I though it might be the shutter getting stuck. Or maybe it happened because I was changing back and
forth from automatic to Manual focus. Will appreciate any comments about that. Freddy
