Had a blast with the 55-300 HD on Sunday when I attended the Dragon Boat Race in Cyprus. I had doubts whether my 55-300 would focus as fast and provide the sharpness and IQ that I wanted, but I must say, it didnt let me down.Even at 300mm where I expected IQ to degrade, it proved me wrong. However, I would have preferred a 70-200 f2.8 or the 60-250 f4 . I shot around 350 shots where 200 were keepers. The rest that were discarded were mostly duplicates from burst mode. All out of camera JPEGs with some minor cropping, basic adjustments (vibrance, contrast, sharpness). Couldnt be bothered with RAW files this time

Pompeii with the 16~45

by UnderOpenWater, on Flickr

It was a gloomy day and walking about the site where all those people all those years ago met their end called for somber post processing. Analog Effects Pro 2, Nik Collection.

My old Vivitar 19/3.8 decided to completely lock up a couple months ago. Until I can replace that FL, I've been using the kit DA18-55 fixed at 20mm. Here's a couple attempts, using a K10D. (xposted from the 20mm Club)
