DA zoom club

I believe its time we have a dedicated club for Pentax's cheap modern zoom's

Sadly they often get overlooked by primes, but nothing truly beats the versatility of a decent zoom. Any zoom lens with a DA logo without the * is welcome. This includes DA WR, and DA L....

So lets get the picture posting and discussion going!

Here's a image I took today of a Chick using the DA 55-300mm @ 300mm wide open. I bought the lens used for $220, which is the best i've seen in EX condition here on the forum I don't use it much sadly, but when I do it never disappoints.

As of last night, my DA 18-250mm is sold. But, I have a quite few images to contribute. I've always been impressed at what it can capture despite it's sloth like speed.

Good idea yeatzee

I am pleased you started this thread as I was going to do one for the 16-45 but thought that would be too narrow - the 50-200 and the 16-45 are my work horse lenses when I need the wide angle and the af and don't have time to change lenses often for work related activities.

Anyway here is one of my faves from the 50-200 on the DL2

Cheap?

Can you talk to my wife? She almost had a heart attack when I told her what the DA 10-17FE and DA 12-24 cost.

No image to contribute, just want to set the record straight

Ha, well the majority are cheap by most standards. Those two are the exceptions.... both of which I want badly

Me and a friend were comparing his nikon 70-300mm vs. my DA 55-300mm in minimum focusing distance @ 300mm. My result (missed the focus a bit, but it still shows how great this lens is)
