Originally posted by Blue No, like I told Smithee on my last post in this thread, this is the area where this FL excels.

Originally posted by dadipentak It depends--I've got a big living room and some of my subjects are camera-shy.

Many old photo text books would tell you that 200mm (on 35mm film) was the upper end for portraits. That certainly classify the 135mm on APS-C a portrait lens, if you like so. But when I see Daniels portraits with his 200mm, I use to think that they were wrong: 200mm (35mm) or 135mm (APS-C) is not the upper limit. If it works in your living room may actually depend more on the close focus distance. Some of the older 135mm lens designs have rather long minima focus distances.
What I see is that me and a lot of other people are shooting 135mm on APS-C. The old 200mm lenses was not only a long portrait alternative, but also worked for indoor sports, street shooting, (semi) domesticises animals, tightly composed landscape pictures etc. Sum up the number of Pentax shots you have seen with old 135mm designs on the APS-C, include also all the shots made at 135mm with the DA*50-135 and other zooms. I think Pentax would have a market here for at least one 135mm. Weather I want them to make a fast DFA135mm f2 or similar, or a compact all metal DA135/3.5 limited (based on the M135mm), most of all, I don't know. Well, I have the A*135, so I suppose I'd prefere a DA135ltd.
But that doesn't give me my 135mm focal length back on the APS-C. The DA70ltd is too short to be the last DA ltd. I think they should make a DA90mm f2.0 limited based on the old M85/2, which is a nice compact "limited" construction. With a DA90ltd and a DA135ltd, the DAltd line would be as complete in the long end as it is now in the short end with both the DA15ltd and DA21ltd.
