Cosina M42 mount. 135mm f2.8

Wide open:

About f8:

Both have a fair bit of PP. This lens suffers massively from flare on bright days, and can get really soft. However, if I stop it down and am careful where I point it, it's not bad sharpness wise. It always needs contrast boosting.

Here's a couple from my Vivitar 135 f/2.8. I really like the images I get from this inexpensive lens:

Douglas - that close focus is such a nice lens! Here's a few random shots with my plain-jane Viv 135/2.8:

Re SMC Pentax-A* 135mm F1.8, for those interested in this lens, the Pentax lens hood (screw-on hood: RH-A77) really don't cut it.

I've just bought a Heliopan Long metal lens hood model 10270 (77mm straight sided, 47mm deep approx). Got it on-line from Teamwork Digital in London (teamworkphoto.com) who were fast & efficient and not expensive.

Do you have a photo of the original hood? My A* came with a hood, but I don't know if it is the original.

No not to hand, but if you Google RH-A77 the third item on first page takes you to a BH Photo page with a picture of the hood on it.

I dunno, I'll check it on an LX, through the viewfinder with aperture stopped down, when I get back to base.

Good news Douglas, no visible vignette apparent through viewfinder at f22.
