Beautiful colors and bookeh!
Quelle est la dernière fleur bleue en français? Have it in my garden, but haven't even been able to find its name in English.

Bonjour Douglas,

Thanks a lot for your compliments ... it would have been nice(r) if I had less wind to fight while taking these snaps!

The last flower in English is "Borage, also know as Bugloss, Burrage and Common Bugloss" according to our reference book. In French, it's "Bourrache".

Salut, John le Frog

"IFBAGON" 135mm f2.8 = Who ???

Bonjour "fellow 135'ers",

Does anyone have an idea as to the manufacturer of a 135 that I recently picked up in my local French thrift shop? It's an "Ifbagon" re-badged lens from another source. From what I have gleaned from the Net, "Ifbagon" was part of the "Ifbaflex" brand which was marketed in France during the 1970's. Below are some photos of the lens to help with any possible "ID's" ...

Just FYI, this lens has a sticky/jammed aperture that I have "jerry-rigged" to be full manual (not auto), but it will not open wide to f2.8. Additionally, I also bought a second lens at the same time, an Ifbagon 35mm f2.8 which is physically identical to a Tamron 35mm f2.8. Both Ifbagons are 55mm filter diameters ...

Any help and/or advice would be greatly appreciated ... and as the French say, "Merci d'avance!"

Salut, John le Frog

I just bought a f/2.5-135mm Asahi Takumar lens for $28.00. It's in "like new" condition, but I have not been able to shoot any photos with it yet. I'm new to DSLR cameras and I'm still trying to figure out how to use in on my new (to me) Pentax K2000 body. It is a very impressive looking piece of glass and I'm anxious to use it. When I get things sorted out, I'll post some examples.

You will need to go into the "custom" menu of your camera and find the setting for "Use Aperture Ring" and set that to "Permitted" then you will have to shoot that lens in Manual Mode, and set the aperture you want on the lens, and use the "green button" to set the shutter speed.

It looks a bit like some Chinon m42 lenses, the rubber grip etc. And Chinon often manufactured for others under many different names. But it is just a guess. I never seen this one before.

Thanks for the flower help!

It was a suprise, but it is amazing what you can find these days.

In a thread in the lens forum, it asks what you would do with a million pounds, someone should throw themselves at the mercy of EBAY and attempt to purchase one of every variant of lens there is out there just to answer all the questions about performance, it just won't be me

Merci ... does look like an Auto Chinon ...

Bonjour Douglas,

I found an image of an Auto Chinon 135/2.8 and they're almost identical except for the front lens tube/cover bezel form ... "indented" on the Ifbagon and "straight" on the Chinon. It's only a minor cosmetic difference here. See below

I repaired again and now have wide open possible (f2.8) ... tested it, but seems only mediocre ... sigh, will test more extensively later when time allows.

Thanks again & salut, John Frog
