Just recently received my M135 f3.5 for my k200d. Got hold of a rather good sample for 40 euros. First took it out on a boat trip with lots of swans posing but I got a bit dissapointed by the IQ, not sure if it is my limited skills with photography and this lense in particular but the results were rather dull. So I took it out again trying to catch me some birds and squirrels which turned out allot better, things looked much sharper in general and with nice contrast unlike the swan pictures which seemed incredibly dull.

Wasn't fast enough manual focusing to catch him in flight...

Little squirrel probably around f4

Love the messy Bokeh wide open

All pictures checked for levels no apparent pp otherwise all at iso400 I think.

I like these three. How good is your manual focus? I have the Sears 135 and I can't seem to get it in good focus unless my subject stays completely still, but for still life I love it.

Thanks! (More here, mostly from the 135 with some DA 35 and A 50 1.7 thrown in: alan_smithee_photos)

I like the focus action. This is the first shoot I've done since installing a split prism focusing screen (katzeye) and that really helped a lot. (When I checked the calibration it seems like it's front focusing a bit so I'll probably need to monkey with the shims. Thank goodness for the threads on that elsewhere). I highly recommend getting a screen like that.

The other things I tend to do is use medium-ish aperture (5.6 for most of these) so the DOF is a little more forgiving. And I sometimes snap a couple shots at a go with a tiny focus adjustment in between (at least this was my strategy until I get the focusing screen dialed in).

FA 135 2.8 (@f4)

(@f2.8 - for cat lover, sorry for the poor framing )

Do you guys know what bird is in the second picture? (sorry i'm not an expert )

I don't know if i must be sad or happy...i just missed an auction when i was at work for a Porst 135 f1.8.
Judging the quality of the f2.8 version it colud be one very interesting lens...there're a couple of them but, as excepted,
prices are higer (for the same price i colud get a zeiss sonnar MC jena 180 f2.8) than the winnning bid for the auction i mentioned before.

you got a killer of a lens in the form of the FA135. why should you be sad?

Komura 135mm f/2.3

I haven't liked 135mm, but this one I really like. Fast, preset, great bokeh, nice rendering.

i was exagerating things a bit, actually i'm very happy of the lens itself...is the man behind the camera that ruins everything

the photographer here shine way more than the lens itself, this is a wonderful shoot!
