Soligor 135 f2.8 - Garden tests ...

Bonjour,

After breaking (accidentally) and then spending many an hour to re-assemble my Soligor 135mm f2.8, I had a pause in the wind and rain, thus a quick jaunt into the garden to test. I picked it up at the beginning of the month and have not shot outside a lot. Found a bee on my apple tree, thus started firing away. I got maybe two or three good shots out of thirty(+) or so ... Here's one below and a near 100% crop via Picasa ... Pretty good detail. K-5 at ISO 160, 1/250 and maybe f8 (?) ... sorry, but I was going fast! Distance was over 2.5 m to 3 m ...

Salut, John le Frog

Fa 135 2.8

Bought this to photograph my daughter dancing. 70mm @ f4.5 just wasn't cutting it. Quite pleased with these since I was able to get the shutter speed quick enough to (more or less) stop motion. I got into a lot of trouble for taking these - it seems that photographing your own child is tantamount to criminality these days.

Not quite as sharp as I'd have liked. I should have let the ISO take up some of the slack and stopped down a bit.
