Sigma EF-500 DG ST Flash Firmware Update For Pentax K10D

I'm having problems with exposures while using a Sigma EF-500 DG ST flash unit with my K10D. I sent an email to Sigma more than a month ago describing the problem, with no reply to this point. Online research has revealed numerous discussions, including several mentioning firmware updates for the flash.

Does this firmware update exist? Has anyone actually had it done? If so, how did you contact Sigma and what was required to get the update? Finally, did the update resolve the issues you were having?

By the way, I've since purchased a Pentax AF-540 FGZ flash, but would rather not entirely write off the Sigma flash.

Evidently it needs to be re-chipped. I still haven't sent mine in - I have two AF540 FGZ flashes now.

Does that apply to the "Super" model as well?

Absolutely nobody here has actually had this flash unit upgraded or rechipped to work with the K10D? I'm going to send another email to Sigma. Perhaps I'll get a reply this time.
