AF500FTZ Flash & the istD and istDS

Has anyone used the AF500FTZ with the istD or istDS? I am wondering if this flash will work properly with these cameras since they do support TTL and the AF500FTZ won't support the PTTL of the newer cameras. Thank you.

It works great

The camera automaitcally switches to ttl mode when this flash is attached

Used mine yesterday as a matter of fact

Note that while I have not measured the flash duration yet, the impression I have is that at max power it is shorter duration than the AF540FGZ. You need to remember this flash was used with the PZ1 which had a 1/250 sync speed
