Thanks for the link..
Ive tried the 360 on wireless but you have to use the built in flash
and let the 360 be the slave.

How can i use the built in flash as a trigger only? or
better yet how can i use it alone as a master
and not using the built in flash to trigger it

There must be a P-TTL capable flash as a master/control to trigger the slave. Wireless flash is optical only. So in your case, the popup flash must be used.

But it can be a control rather than a master and thus not contribute to the exposure.
This can be found in your camera's menu options. Scroll down your custom settings to look for your flash setting in wireless mode.

Read your camera manual for more info on that.

There should be a setting in the custom menu which you can designate the camera's on board flash to be the master (where it sends pre-flash information, and then also fires for the actual shot) or control (where it sends pre-flash information, and the on-board flash does NOT fire for the actual shot). either way, the on-board flash communicates with the 360 via a sequence of pre-flashes which tell the 360 what settings are being used, and the proper flash setting required.

Also, once you have setup the wireless flash in the custom menu, you actually have to go into the flash menu (via the function button on the back) and set it to wireless, which should be represented by a W(then the flash symbol). Finally, the manual linked above will be extremely helpful.

Check your manual.
We've already said that the custom menu has an item that allows you to set the built-in flash as a master or control. If you don't know where this is, then look it up in the manual.

A wireless master? Why?
What do you need to trigger with the external flash?
If you have another flash unit, you can use the first flash as a master by hooking it straight on the camera hotshoe, or you can attach it to a hotshoe extension cable and have it 'off camera' but still a master.

This is what i mean. thanks. hotshoe extension cable.

Just correct me if im wrong.
if i have another flash lets say a YN460.
I can use the AF360 wirelessly as a master through a hotshoe extension cable and have the YN460 as a wireless slave. both flash off camera. no need to buy a
wireless trigger.

If your 360 is on a hotshoe extension cable, it's not wireless, it acts as an on-camera flash, just off-camera.

Whatever this YN460 is, I wonder whether it is compatible with wireless flash technology. If the YN460 is not P-TTL, then the only way you'll be able to trigger it as a slave flash is to buy radio triggers, which use radio signaling rather than optical signaling that the Pentax AF, Sigma EF and Metz AF flashes use. Otherwise there's no way any master flash can communicate with the slave...

Try it and see in its wireless slave mode...

I think its not P-TTL..
SO when there is a radio trigger that will become the master right? That will enable
to trigger both 360 and YN460 as a slave..

I don't know if this will help or not but it is a good guide to Pentax and Pentax compatible flashes. It does mention that the AF360 can be used as both a slave and a master but I don't know if that is on camera or off.

The definitive guide to Pentax hot shoe flashes and compatible 3rd-party options.

the YN560 but on the AF360 the flash fires but in the picture
it appears that the flash is not in sync. The pictures are black.
