I received a Pentax AF360 flash as a gift a while ago and wanted to upgrade it to the AG540. I went to the store where it was purchased and Pentax dropped him as a dealer for not selling enough Pentax products. I went to a different Pentax dealer, but since I didn't have a reciept (since it wasn't bought there) they wouldn't help. The original store tried to sell it on consignment, but it didn't go.

I sent an email to Pentax customer service, and they are useless.

Does anybody know of a Pentax dealer that might be willing to help me out? The 360 is brand new in the box. It was taken out once to look at it and put right back in.

Or, how about contact info for the CEO of Pentax.

Sell it in the markteplace. No dealer will help you without a receipt.

You would have more luck listing it in the Market Place at a discount and applying the money to the flash you want.

No joke. I wanted the better flash. If Pentax hadn't dropped the dealer status of where I bought it, it wouldn't have been an issue.

How will the new dealer or Pentax know it's not stolen property? Or purchased five years ago? If you don't have the original receipt, you have no hope of assistance from a dealer or Pentax. Even with the original receipt you may be out of luck. Being able to trade up without a cost penalty is not a right accorded by all retailers.
