Cowboy Studios Flash Triggers

Anybody use these or have any experience with them? The price ridiculously low compared to other brands. But they have pretty decent reviews on Amazon. I was thinking about picking some up and perhaps an Impact kit from B&H. I have several old flashes lying around and I'd really like to start experimenting with off-camera lighting.

I have a set and will now add another receiver for a two-light set.

They work as advertised. Unlike many of the other cheap brands, they synch up at the maximum of 1/180 with no problem - they are designed to synch higher. this is refreshing.

I've never had a misfire, and they are well thought out in terms of the ergonomics - the issue on the others was usually with the receiver. This design is better through out. Receiver is flatish, only about an inch thick or less with a mounting hole on the bottom.

Range is good, but I have not pushed it. I think these are great for experimenting etc.

Hard to go wrong for the price. I actually trust mine and have used them a few times when it more or less counted. 1000% percent better than the v2s I purchased. Nothing but trouble there. Thinking about donating those to the dung heap of history.

woof!
