Anyone use promaster flashes? Which models? Im thinking of getting one since i have some modules and the flash bracket. Basically the most important thing i need to know is will the p-ttl work with my k110d? Thanks

Unless things have changed, Promaster does not have any P-TTL capable modules.

The module-based flashes are very nice, unfortunately they don't do P-TTL, and they also don't have much flexibility in manual mode.

The "for manual focus" modules do have on-module sensors for auto mode though (set camera's aperture appropriately and the flash does the rest for you). I'm hoping I can repair my Quantaray QTB-9500A (rebadged Promaster 5700) when I get it back from my family's house next time I visit them.

I asked promaster

I asked promaster about my problem and this is what they said.

" Your FTA 5000 series module will fit the Promaster 5750DX and work with
your film cameras, but you will need the #5432 DX module for Pentax on the
5750DX flash to work P-TTL on the Pentax K110D. "

Im actually just trying to get my p-ttl going without having to buy a whole new system. Ive got 3 promaster flashes made for film slr plus a bracket and although it works well with my camera.....it doesnt get the best shot everytime. I have to do several test shots to get it to work. Not really a problem unless im shooting an event and need the best shot the first time.

Im guessing im gonna have to buy a new flash and bracket and cord then.

Promaster does have a module for P-TTL now, I just ordered one, and hopefully it will be in this week Promaster
$59.99 is what i am paying, I paid $40.00 for a 5550DX flash used at the same shop where I am buying the module.
