Can Metz 58 AF-1 work with AF540?

I have an AF540 now and wanna buy a Metz 58 AF-1 later.
Can they work together in wireless mode in the following ways?
1. AF540 as master and Metz as slave
2. Metz as master and AF540 as slave
3. Both are slaves and triggered by built-in flash

If none of them could be possible, I have to keep only one of them.

Yes. 1 and 2 works. Plus either one can be control only (no visible flash power). 3 should work but you may have to adjust power manually.

AF540 has contrast controll sync mode. Can it be used in such combination?

Contrast control doesn't work the way it's supposed to work at the AF 540. Actually on my AF-540 it looks like it doesn't work at all.
The Metz has this second fixed forward-looking flash unit which I have found to cause more harm than help. In some modes it can't be disabled. For this and for some other reasons (ease and speed of use) I would recommend you getting a second AF-540:s instead of a Metz 58-1. The only function that's really missing on the Pentax flash is stroboscop.
The other main difference is how they retain settings. The Pentax flash returns to default settings (plus button positions) when turned on, the Metz flash that has a (rather confusing) menu system retains the last settings used. What you like decides.
