Over-Exposure problem on K-7 + AF360: please help!

Hi, I've been shooting K7+ AF360 flash and noticed 90%+ of photo came out over way exposed and some with hot spots.

Camera setting: Manual exposure, 1/25, f5.6, ISO: 400, EV: -2/3

Flash setting: P-TTL with head straight up at 90deg bonced off.

If I leave the camera in program mode, the results are even worse.

Has anyone experienced the same issue and how to go about fixing it? Or I may just have a bad copy of the flash.

Thank you in advance for your help!!

Same problem

I don't have any advice, but I've had the same issue with the AF360 and my K-5. I've had no problems with the pop-up flash but use of the AF360 results in consistent and significant overexposure. I have used a variety of flash modes, mainly P-TTL, and I mostly used the Green mode and P mode on the K-5. I've not had exposure problems without the flash. I bought the flash used (not on this forum) so I'm also wondering if it could be a bad copy that someone decided to unload.

I'm no flash expert, but what is your flash compensation set to? Maybe it needs to be bumped down.

I made no adjustments so the settings would have been the default settings. All I did was try various modes on the flash and camera.

I've ALWAYS had this problem with a K10D, AF360, FA50/1.4 or FA35/2. I realize my equipment is 2006 vintage and older but I think the issue has existed for a long time. My best success is to use only auto functions.

I attribute this to operator incompetence.
