Sigma EF-530 DG SUPER or EF-500 DG SUPER

Does anyone know the major differences between Sigma's EF-530 DG SUPER and EF-500 DG SUPER flashes? Theres about an $80 difference between them, so just wondering which one to buy for my K10D.

Cheers

The EF-500 has a guide number of 50 where as the EF-530 has a guide of 53. Basically the 530 is more powerful.

My local sigma distributor reported that EF-500 is now discontinued in Japan. There will no longer be new production of EF-500. All those EF-500 now available in the market are leftovers from old stock.

Just thought this might be useful info for others.

I have myself placed an order for the EF-530 DG ST.

Thanks! but this site has no English translation, how do you manage to order anything?

By the way, You need P-TTL support for the flash, and based on what I can understand on this website, Sigma EF530 DG ST P-TTL is 20,800 Yen?

Here's the direct link to the 16,800 yen Sigma EF530 DG ST. I live in Japan, so I can order through them, I don't think they ship internationally.

If you look at one of the drop down boxes, you can choose PA-PTTL for Pentax.
