Flash recs for Pentax KX?

I recently bought a pentax Kx. I never learned much about flash photography, but want to try some new things with my camera such as architecture, interiors, food, portraits etc. I'm not ready to do the whole studio set up with strobes, soft boxes etc. I'm simply looking for an on camera flash that won't break the bank. Any suggestions?

If you have $220 the Metz-48 is really excellent. I think the Metz 50 replaced it, but not sure how much it is.

It would be helpful if you could tell us how cheap or expensive you're willing to go. For example a Metz 48 at $220 might still be too expensive when you compare it to a Vivitar 383F at $129 or a Yongnuo at $69. You should consider how much you're willing to spend, then we can at least pin down some options related to the photography you're interested in.

thanks for the suggestions. I guess I would prefer something under 200 right now. I'll check out the ones you all suggested.
