Hi Guys

I have another thread addressing my skill issues regarding flash and usage on a k20 and twitchy is being very patient with me

i have a direct question however relating to others experience with the flash..

In P and AV and manual using Pttl the images seem (and i use the term carefully as i know pttl preserves highlights) underexposed...

If i put the camera and flash in manual with the same settings used on manual / pttl then the image will be bright / overexposed. the wierd thing is that using pttl the image goes dark if say the aperture is increased (ie f4-f8) but the manual flash will reduce accordingly but still be very bright...

It seems that the flash isnt outputting as much in pttl (when maxed out) as it does in manual, which seems odd...

ALso just to confirm behaviour..
manual high and low only work when camera is in M mode?
in P mode at 70mm (using 70-200 2.8 tammy) default green button exposure is 100 /2.8 and it will let me adjust the shutter down but not up or the aperture... not both. If i adjust the aperture the shutter remains on 100... if i adjust one then the other it resets the other... if that makes sense?

another question... which way do i adjust FEC to get the image to appear brighter? to +1 or to -2? i know to get a non flash image i have to adjust EC negatively to get the images brighter (which i rarely do)
