Hey guys, trying to find a stand for the flash, but having no luck. Basically the legs for it so I can place it on a table, I believe. Is this something that's not necessary? Thanks in advance.

I presume the Metz didn't come with a little stand. Both my Metz 58 AF 1 & 2s came with a small flat stand that could also be screwed into a lightstand.

You can pick up flash stands on ebay for quite cheap. Alternatively, you could purchase a cold shoe, making sure it has a tripod screw in the base and also purchase one of those small tripods for point & shoot cameras.

Hope this helps.

I am curious, what purpose does the stand serve? And is a lightstand different from a regular tripod?

The cheapest flash stand is the hotshoe of an old camera.

Or buy a few copies of this.

So you can put the flash on a flat surface (e.g. table top) for remote flash operation.

Normally a flash can't be directly attached to a tripod. A flash stand provides a threaded tripod hole.

I use the stand below for my Metz 48, fits perfectly, model is AS-19. It also has a tripod thread underneath. Cost was ~$7 from memory.
