Hi There,

I am new to flash photography. I have just recently bought a cheap Yongnuo 460II. I would like to know if I can use it externally and of the camera? Thanks, Ben

yes, either set it to s1 mode to trigger it with a dumb flash, s2 and trigger it with a pttl flash like the popup flash or set it to manual and trigger it with either a wired hotshot or wireless transmitter/receiver set
