Does anyone have any experience with the ~$100 battery grip for the K100d? I'd be interested to see if it really provides that much better battery life. I know I would appreciate the portrate shutter button.
You mean the Ansmann-grip?
I own the Ansmann-grip for a few weeks now. I really like it!!! It was still nog necessary to charge the grip. So I haven't test that yet.
That grip is really great. Much more grip on the camera. The feeling of the camera is just more. I cannot life without grip anymore..
And I am not missing any extra releasebutton.

I live in Oaxaca, Mexico, and my camera is always around my neck as I stroll. I take pictures of everything but prefer people. I've considered the grip but for me the added size and weight would outweigh any benefit, which would seem to be not changing batteries. I have a spare SD card in my little backpack with the backup battery. Even if I had the grip I'd need the little backpack.

I practiced shooting at a Christmas party this past weekend at a hotel. I really wish I had a flash for the occasion, so I probably will be getting a flash. Probably go with the Pentax AF 360. I would get the 540, but it's out of my budget =(

Battery grip seems like a necessary luxury by most peoples' account. And since the whole rebate thing is goin on, I don't know if I can resist. Either that or find one off the marketplace or eBay.

Thanks for all the replies.
