flash unit for kr

i saw this on amason. Pentax K-r Digital Camera Lighting Photo and Video Halogen Light - 2 AAA Batteries and Charger included. What do you think about this unit?

I don't have this unit. But I know it's not a flash, at least in the commonly-used sense.

Do you plan to use it for photo or for video? No matter what the description says, it's not suitable for photo for sure.

this for sure is for video..but I think this product is a crap...I think the light output is very limited..

imo, you'll probably be better off strapping a decent flashlight to your camera than with this

If you're looking for a video light, I agree that strapping a good flashlight on your camera would most likely do better. I have a friend who does video and she uses something like this that works quite well:

However, if you are looking for a flash I'd say it depends on what you're doing. For a good, full-featured P-TTL flash I'd have to suggest the Bell & Howell Z680AF-P which is what I shoot with normally. That is if you're wanting to keep your costs low.
