Nikon SD-8A for Pentax flashes?

Among the items in the box I just bought is a copy of Nikon SD-8A High-Performance External Battery Pack.

I know it's a long shot, but I have to ask: has anyone adapted the SD-8A to use with Pentax (or any other brand) flash units?

I have several high voltage battery packs by Quantum and Lumedyne, but none is as compact and as light-weighed as the SD-8A.
