I have been watching the Yongnuo ebay store for about a month now and they just released their update to the YN-560. It is supposed to be very similar to the old 560, just with a lcd display.

I was supprised that it is only like $6.00 more expensive thatn the original model. I will probably be ordering one next month and will post some pics if no one beats me to it.

Wow, that LCD is a much welcomed improvement over the LEDs of the first model. I was thinking about getting another 560 soon to go with my current one, but looks like I'll save up a little more and go for a pair of these and keep the old model as a 3rd light.

I'm fine with it not being P-TTL, very few of my lenses will allow that anyway, but one with a thyristor mode would be really awesome.

TZH,
At the moment it does not look like Yongnuo has any plans to release a Pentax P-ttl flash (at least no plans I have read about and they have never made a p-ttl flash before so I don't know why they would start now). That being said it would be nice if they would, a little more competition in that area might force Pentax Ricoh to make some updates to their line up (AF360).

Since Yonguno already has a good deal of experience reverse engineering Canon and Nikon ttl it would be nice to see them take a crack at p-ttl and maybe release a p-ttl supporedt radio trigger.

I'm using AF360 and quite painful as it is lag of swivel .... and power is just barely.

Thanks for the heads up!

I've been waiting for this release to get my first manual flash setup. Going to be getting 2 plus a trigger set.

Anyone recommend the Yongnuo triggers (proper model numbers)? I thought I might as well order the whole setup from their ebay store.

Those with a K5, just take note.
I've heard of problems with this version of the flash on the k5 after firmware update.
So pls check with YN ebay store itself or do a web search on this topic.

stormtech,
I don't have any experience with the YN triggers, but I would highly recommend the cactus v5 triggers if you can expand your budget a little. They have worked great for me.

Thanks for that - during my research I've heard nothing but good reviews for the Cactus v5's, and they aren't that much more money.
