Youngnuo RF-603 wireless triggers not working

Hi,

Bought these flash triggers.

eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace

They won't trigger the flash. The only way I can get the flash to work when attached is via the PC port, not the hotshoe. However, the shutter trigger works fine on the K10D, so the triggers are obviously talking to each other.

Is that fact that they are Canon triggers likely to be a problem? The triggers have 5 contact points on the bottom. I have trid shorting the other 4 out with tape, still didn't work. Is it more likely they are just faulty?

Help!

Thanks,

Jez

What flashes do you use?

Last year I attended a strobist-workshop were they used the same triggers with canon speedlites.
As the only Pentaxguy I also had some problems, most of the time they worked oke but sometimes the flashes fired pressing the shutter only halfway or just wouldn`t fire at all.

As we investigated the problem we found that somehow the contacts of trigger and camera were slightly misalligned. We pulled the transciever back in the hotshoe just a little bit in order to make proper contacts.
This helped to a certain point but not for a full 100%.

Maybe you can check if the contacts are properly alligned?

This has been discussed on the forums here and a few other places around the net, the 603's do not work with the K5|K7|Kr|Kx and possible a couple other pentax bodies (only listed those bodies as 2 were confirmed by me and the others by others).

RESURRECTION! Bringing this thread back to life just to say: crap, I fell for this too - the RF-603 triggers. Well, I use "fell for this" loosely - nobody conned me into it or whatever. I liked the features, did a cursory search, and saw someone say somewhere that the 603C triggers WOULD trigger their pentax with the included cord. I didn't read closely enough or research enough.

Joe.Penn: How are you liking your Aputure Trigmaster Plus kit now? Any updates? I just placed an order for on this kit Amazon's listing which according to the APUTURE website, is compatible (the triggers are universal, the camera shutter cable is specific) Aputure's compatibility list

The trigger is no longer available under pentax mount, Do you think the canon version will work? If I'm not mistaken they it uses TX1C connectors

My understanding is that the triggers themselves are universal between camera gear, but the connectors to trigger the camera shutter from the triggers is specific, and that the C1 works for Pentax as well.
