It comes with all filter ring adapters through 67mm except 49mm, for some weird reason. I have a macro lens with 49mm filter threads, so I just use a 49mm to 52mm filter step-up ring to adapt it to the included 52mm ring. Works great.

You should have no problems using it with your rig.

Cheers,
Bobbo :-)
Thanks!!

5000 or 6000 ?

Hi,

Adorama has both DR5000 and DR6000 and the difference in descriptions is that for DR6000 it is added that :

1. 12 LED Lights Provides Constant Even Illumination
2. 3 Hours Run Time.

Is LED used only for longer battery life, or there are some advantages/disadvantages ?

Thanks.

No, that was the first thing I tried.

The 5000 is a standard macro ringflash. The 6000 is a constant "on" LED ringlight. The 5000 is probably better for still photography because of the color temperature, but you can use the 6000 for macro video, and since it's constantly on, probably helps you focus. I have the 5000 & it works well.

I purchased one of these - the photos were fine, but the flash unit attachment fell apart after 2 outings. Bugger it.

Does the 6000 require the battery pack to be mounted in the hot-shoe? It might have been a design choice to make it so, but it shouldn't be required (and I tend to use the hot shoe for something else). I wonder how easy it'd be to change the cord and make a more pocketable battery pack...

Dunno about that model... I haven't used it. It shouldn't be hard to modify it, but it would void your warranty.

Well, if it runs in the $50-range, then that's not a big issue, I'd say.....anybody else with experience with that model to share?
