a cheap fill flash

first, i really don't know much about flashes, please correct me...
ok, i have af160 flash. i will probably (????) buy wireless trigger "v2s" with 2 receivers from ebay.
i need one more flashes as a fill flash.
so i need a safe, cheap flash with vari-power. i don't need a head which can swivel or tilt. and i won't need lighting wider than 35 mm....
can you tell me all safe and cheapest flashes with vari-power function you know???
thanx
btw, has af260 vari-power function with reduces the light to 1/2, 1/4 or 1/8???

The Vivitar 285HV works well with the V2S receivers, and has variable power. It is available in the U.S. for $89 plus postage at B&H, Adorama, etc., etc. Many E-Bay dealers also sell it, but their shipping charges are usually higher, at least for destinations in the U.S. The 285HV zooms manually, comes with an accessory diffusion lens for wide-angle shots, and has 3 automatic modes where the light is metered through the flash itself. I have one, and have been very satisfied with it. The Pentax AF200T is frequently available used on e-bay, and usually sells for less than $40. It also has variable power.

Either the Vivitar 285HV or a Sunpak 383 Super will run you about US$90.00, new. If you get a used flash you have to make sure the trigger voltage is about 6 volts or you will fry your digital camera. But if you only use it off camera I suppose you'll be ok... maybe...

I bought a Sunpak 383 Super just 2 weeks ago, and I'm really happy with it.

Nikon SB-24,25,26,28,28DX
Sunpak 433D,422D,444[Make sure its one with Manual Power Control, normally nikon ones], 383 [Need VP-1 for vari power], Sunpak AUTO3000,Sunpak PZ5000AF,
Vivitar 285HV
Canon 540EZ

Are ones I know off the top of my head all but the SB-24,26,28,28DX can be had for around $50+US while the other 4 in the region of $100US and above. The 285HV and 283 can be had for about $80-90US new, but the 383 will need the VP-1 for manual power control, which can be quite hard to find at times. Just make sure NEVER to put any of the flashes [except the 285HV if its a newer one] on your hotshoe as it could mess up camera and\or flash. Also make sure your not buying a Minolta mount of any of the sunpak or vivitar flashes and it wont fit your triggers due to the different flash mount.

Enjoy!
Thanks

If you're considering the 285hv, there is no reason to omit the promaster 7000m. It has a wireless sensor that is triggered by other flashes going off...
