After doing some research I thinking that it might be good to get some functions like zoom and high sync speed (if I decide to use it outside).
I have not gone far with my research. But will a flash without TTL allow these functions? the YN-460II I know does not zoom. The 560 does.

HSS is a pttl only function on Pentax bodies. The 560 is a solid flash (I own 3, 2 more on the way) and I could definitely recommend that if you've got the budget for it. Aside from that, you should just get your feet wet with using flash before you worry about things like pttl, HSS, overpowering the sun, etc.
Personally, my preferred ,method of overpowering daylight is with a battery powered studio strobe

Actually, the benefit of P-TTL is that it is easier for someone who is just getting his feet wet.

I agree 100% about the studio strobe. If you are shooting in studio, it is far superior to a manual speedlight.

Yes it easier but you learn nothing I wish I would have started with my YN560 instead of the AF360 I find it much easier to set the manual flash since I use my camera on manual most of the time anyways and found that I used the AF360 in manual mode more than in P-ttl the only time I have really used it in P-ttl is to use HSS.

I started before there was TTL or even a dedicated flash, so I see the convenience as a relief.
