Originally posted by Edgar_in_Indy No, it was the crux of your argument that there aren't enough people sticking to 1st party flashes to make RF worthwhile. The only "argument" that I was making is that RF would be a nice feature to have, and the first big camera maker to implement it in their cameras and flashes would have a competitive advantage on the features list.
You'd only recommend it if you thought there was enough people to support it. And as already pointed out Canon is apparently on board with it in some fashion
For comparison's sake,
the first large Canon forum I grabbed off google (hundreds of thousands of posts) front page of their flash/light forum is full of people not using Canon flashes.
I see more than one Alien Bee thread, PCB strip lights, Yongnuo, studio lights, Mettle, Phottix odin, Cheetah. The second page has even more threads about Yongnou.
As I said, on this and every other photography website I've been on, and not just Pentax, people are using a mix of equipment. To suggest a feature like this, you'd need a usage scenario and you haven't really presented anything compelling suggesting that there is really any significant amount of people who would fall into the category of this being a useful feature. I just don't see what kind of photographer would be using nothing but first party speedlights.
