Oh no, we are not discussing a wholesale change to a radio frequency longer than IR (technically speaking IR is also a form of radio). We are discussing whether it is possible for the pop-up flash to output no visible light while the shutter is open and the camera is set to Controller mode. While Pentax allows you to believe this is how Controller mode works, we know that none of the P-TTL bodies prior to the K-5ii can do this. The question is whether the K-5ii is capable of outputting NO light from the pop-up flash during the exposure when it has been set to Controller mode.
I think you are confused by the side discussion of Aokatec's technology to convert the P-TTL IR signals into a 2.4GHz signal - - - but even with that system, the camera body will still emit visible light from the pop-up flash during the exposure. You have to mechanically block this visible light with one of several devices if you don't want it to contribute to the image.
