Flash triggers

HI my cheepo I Shoot flash triggers stopped working, I suspect the remote quit as it doesn't trigger the idiot light on both revievers, even with new batteries.

Henrys have a set of Cactus V5 CACTUS V5 TRANSCEIVER DUO (SET OF 2) 824055 but doesn't say if Pentax compatible.

I take it 2 units would be a transmitter and reciever for 1 flash, what would be the possibility of them triggering the I Shoot units.?

The Cactus v5's are pretty good. I have 4 of them right now and they work almost without fail. Great range as well.

They work with any standard hotshoe, since they only need the center pin to fire. They are manual only and do not transmit any TTL data.

However, there is about 0% chance of them working with another radio trigger.

I think enoeske covered it but I'll add my vote for them. I have three and use them regularly with no issues on both k-5 and k-x.

Note that the Cactus v5's are tranceivers, which means they can be both a transmitter and a receiver. You slide a switch to tell each unit if it is transmitting or receiving. Need one transmitter and two receivers? No problem. Need two transmitters and one receiver? No problem.

Thanks guys, I just picked up 2 and playing quickly they work fine, but it appears I have to use manual shutter release as in AV it will use the non flash settings.

Does the shutter release work o/k?

Correct. I always use x-sync mode on the k-5, if your camera does not have that then use 'M' mode and adjust shutter speed to about 1/160 - 1/180 and aperture to suit. When you use wireless triggers you are going all manual so you have to adjust the flash power, distance and the aperture to get the correct exposure.

I just picked up some of these and they pretty much rock. Still gotta test em on the ME Super, Z-1 and Mamiya 645 AFD =)
