Wireless triggers!

I have never used studio lights with a pentax camera so here I am with a brand new Calumet Genesis 400 light. Since the sync cable won't work with the K-30 can someone recommend a good wireless trigger I can purchase? I have used a Cowboy studio trigger/receiver for my Metz flash and that worked great. The last time I did any studio shooting I was using a D700. Thanks for any links or recommendations!

I was looking at these: 16-Channel Wireless Studio Flash Trigger - Gadget Infinity

Take a look at: Cactus Wireless Flash Transceiver V5 Duo - Gadget Infinity

More money but I have had really good luck with these, worked flawlessly for over two years.

I was just looking at those, probably a better bet since I will be getting another strobe anyways in less than a month. Thanks for the link.

Why not use the Cowboy ( aka NPT 04) trigger? I use them with my Pentax 540 flashes, my Yongnou 560 II and AB 800's alone or all together. The NPT-04 Receiver has a PC port, you just need the right size jack on the other end for the Calumet.

If your lights are analogue not digital display, you might as well by cheap ebay triggers, the only advantage to the up market and very expensive triggers mentioned is that if your lights are digital you can control the output or assign each light to a channel and turn them on or off at the camera.
I use cheap ebay units from Ishoot for teaching and studio lights never had a problem or look at apature units if you want something better

I use the cheap Trust PT-04 triggers, and while the build quality is cheesy, they work well and fire every time. Battery life is pretty good, too. You just have to be gentle with them.

Doh! That's the transmitter/receiver I have! Not sure why I did not think of that. Now I just need to get a cable. I think I can probably get one at radio shack.

I've bought 4 Cactus 5 units. Two of them quit within six months. I obviously got a bad batch, but I can't trust the brand anymore. I now have Phottix Ares transmitters and receivers. The price is about the same and the transmitter and all three of the receivers have been rock solid. They won't serve as remote shutter triggers like the Cactus but I trust the Phottix units to work.

Sorry to hear your Cactus died. What do you mean by remote shutter triggers? *Newbie*

Cactus v5 units have the ability to act as a remote wireless shutter trigger in addition to the wireless flash trigger. I`ve never used it so I do not know how well it works.
