I have a pair of Elinchrom Dlite 4's, and one of the original softboxes tore on me tonight. I have a fashion shoot on Sunday and I desperately need a new box now. The only place that sells boxes that are compatible has a very little selection available according to the website and I'm going to go check it out tomorrow. The question is... which is nicer light....
The original softbox is a 60cm x 60cm box.
The salesman is pushing me hard on the Elinchrom 100cm Octabox "deep throat" (oddly one of the most expensive lights they offer). I never really thought of an Octabox before, but I assume rounder catch lights. I'm looking for a soft light that can give me a nice fall off over a full figure. I got it narrowed down to three boxes after looking online and hoping to get some opinions.
ELINCHROM - Rotalux® Softbox Deep Octa 100 cm
The recommended box
Ezybox II Octa Large 1.2cm LL LS2721 - Ezybox II Octa | Lastolite
a slightly cheapter version
ELINCHROM - Rotalux® Softbox 50x130 cm
a rectangular softbox, but I'm curious if 50cm on the short edge is wide enough with only a 60x60 for support.
