AF 540FGZ and AF 540FGZ ii size comparison?

If I were to order a set of diffusers for an AF 540FGZ will they fit the AF 540FGZ ii flash? These are the plastic cup type diffusers that are flash specific, not the one size fits most type of diffuser.

As long as I'm asking, will diffusers for the Yongnuo YN560-II or Canon EX 430 II fit the AF 540FGZ ii?
I have just ordered the AF540FGZ ii flash from B&H, it will arrive Friday. B&H does not yet have diffusers for the ii version and the fellow I ordered from was unable to tell me if they are the same size. Would any of you be able to shed some light (pun intended) on the matter?

If I am reading the dimensions right, it does not appear that the two flashes are the same size. Thanks for the links! Very helpful

You're welcome! Btw, a lot of us make our own diffusers. Check out the Do it yourself archives here.

Thanks I will! I have a set of "one size fits most" gels that I can use for the new flash, but those plastic cups are so easy to work with. Since there's not a cup for the new flash available I may end up making something. Heading to the archives now

I have seen the new 540FGZ II in Japan while I bought the 360FGZ II, the flash heads are different (smaller). So, the old diffuser you had on the 540FGZ will not work. I have been searching for similar diffuser for 360FGZ II, as I have the old 360 and OMNI bounce. I don't use the diffuser any more, and I just bounce it off to the ceiling and side wall. The LED lamp at the base of the flash helps immensely; and don't find a need for a diffuser.

Instead of the plastic diffusers, you might consider the Black Foamie Thing .

I posted about it today here: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/32-digital-processing-software-printing/2...ml#post3097567

Harbor digital says that the Metz af-50 accessories work with a thin filler on one edge.

To quote:

At this time we do not make a custom adapter for the new 540FGZ II but we do
have an existing adapter that can work.
To use the existing adapter you will need to apply the Velcro that we
provide inside of the adapter on one side to achieve a proper fit.
Other customers have used the modified adapter and have informed us that it
fits well.

The adapter to order would be for the Metz 50AF.

I use their flash extender and am waiting for my AF 540FGZII to arrive.
