It highly depends on the intended use. Your talking about two totally different flashes. Why?

If this is your only flash (for now) and if you answer any of the below with yes, the 60 CT-1 is the wrong flash.
Do you want pTTL?
Do you need AF assist (e.g. when your camera is a K10D)?
Do you mind carrying a (serious) battery on your hip?
Are you prepared to wait 7 hours for the battery to charge to 80% and 13 hours to be fully charged? Depending on intended use, you might need a second battery (you can get anywhere between 160 and 4500 shots from the battery, no experience with this but it's what the manual states).

Further be aware that the 60 CT-1 only has one power level in manual mode, the 44 AF-1 has 4.

If you just want a flash, the 60 CT-1 is not really the right choice. I use a 45 CT-1 which does not have the external battery so is easier to take with and easier to use (no cable from battery to flash). The 44 AF-1 might also not be the right choice (lack of HSS).

If you can indicate your intended use (and budget), you can get some good advice.

Hi there. I try to post again today after a frustrating experience yesterday, using my cell...

Forget about the Metz. I have a 45 I'm Italy I used with my Pentax MX that does have battery in it.

I am looking for a flash that I can use both on and off camera but I am not sure I want to go for p-ttl.
I am good with manual, which it helps to stay lower in costs of equipment in the end.

I am going to open another thread, now. I would love your contribution there as well.

Thank you

Just be careful with the 45 CT-1; serial numbers below 534000 are not safe for digital cameras. You need something like a Wein safe-sync.

If you don't have the original battery, you can still get the battery holder and put alkalines in.
