Just for the fun of it I put my 560 directly my km to see what happen.

Well to my surprise it fired. how is this possible. This is not a setup seen in the manual that flash comes with.

Has anyone tried this and can I use the flash this way?

Why wouldn't it work? Any flash with a center pin should fire if the shutter speed is less than or equal to the X-sync speed.

I'm sure the manual tells you how to mount it on the camera (the few Yongnuo manuals that I've checked do explain that

) so I'm surprised that you are surprised

Its very interesting. I have always used the flash with the RF603. I bought them together, and somehow I have always had the impression that they should work togther. I have had the flash for two years.
And have been using it this way since I bought them.

Meanwhile all this time I have been thinking that it will be nice to mount only the flash.
I went to read the manual after I created the thread. I am an amateur but I am not a newbie. So I am surprised that I am surprised

It should work in borh manual and optical slave mode on most cameras, Culture!
