Any experience with Vivitar 132AF-N Flash on a Pentax dslr

Hello,
has anyone ever used a Vivitar 132AF-N Flash on a Pentax dslr?
During today's spring cleaning, I just found an old Vivitar 132AF-N flash I used to have for my old Nikon F501.
Somehow this piece survived hidden; in great condition and still works great. Its not a sophisticated gear.
I tried it on my K3, just random shots on X mode. Anyone else used this?
regards,
Deba

The combination will only use the center pin for firing the flash. This implies that there will be no pTTL functionality.

So you're left with the non-dedicated modes that the flash supports; I'm not familiar with the flash (can't even find a manual on the web) but those modes can be manual and/or auto-thyristor.

Sorry to hijack your thread, but I felt it necessary to chime in piece of advice for those attempting to use film-era flashes on DSLRs. Many older flashes have a very high trigger voltage that can fry electronics in DSLRs. It's a good idea to always check the DPanswers trigger voltage list before attempting to use any vintage flash on a new camera.
Thanks dcshooter: this warning certainly applies. My son, who is pretty new to flash photography, had already put the flash on the K3 and fired the shots before I had chance to intervene. It was a great relief to see all was OK. I usually check these things before I try them. I must say I was vaguely aware of this issue myself, but I am usually very cautious before I attempt this kind of thing.

I plan to use the 132AF-N occasionally, so if anyone is using it perhaps I can borrow some ideas. Thanks
