New Battery Packs for Honeywell Strobonars

Hi Everyone, I'm an old-timer living on Long Island N.Y. I've made a collection of all the old equipment I used as a kid, buying vintage pieces off Ebay. A few of the flashes I have are the honeywell 770 and 780 strobonars. The problem I'm having is getting replacement batteries. A nearby battery distributor told me, they can solder sb-C batteries together, but can't attach the clips that make contact with the flash unit. I read an old thread from another fellow who goes by the name of BillV63 who repairs and puts new batteries in these units. Does he still frequent these forums, or does anybody else have expertise with these old beauties???
