360FGZ II w. Sigma 17-50 : PTTL?

I had read somewhere you need a pentax brand lens for P-TTL to work. Using a sigma or tamron lens WON"T P-TTL with the flash PENTAX AF 360FGZ II. Is that true?

My main lens is a sigma 17-50. Hoping my PENTAX AF 360FGZ II with P-TTL will work with this lens.

The camera handles the PTTL communication. I can use a 540FGZii with a Tamron 28-75 with PTTL and it works fine.

That combo works just fine, especially on the K-3 (apart from the slight delay). Pentax can't make any claims about third party lenses working or not working with their equipment because they don't make it and can't guarantee it will work. So they simply say that P-TTL works with Pentax (maybe A?) F, FA, DFA, DA lenses.

As long as you have the aperture ring set to "A", it should work.
