No, I get it. Used to use PSP way back when I was still on Windows. I used 6,7 and 8, the latter only sporadically. I got turned off by PSP's inability to process raws "comme il faut". I remember the NR was awesome. The move from shareware to a Corel commercial offering also took some getting used to ;-)

I have since then moved on to Cinepaint and Gimp but I still have fond memories of PSP.

Thanks again, nice work!

Hi newmikey

I was quite happy using PSP v.8.0 for a very long time, before upgrading to v.9.0. I finally succumbed to PSP Photo X2 a few months ago, in order to process the raw files from the K10D, as Corel had it on special offer. PSP X2 now includes many clever features, including a useful HDR facility. Some say that versions 10 & particularly 11 were apparently fairly unstable and riddled with bugs, so I naturally gave those ones a wide berth, but I'd seriously check this program out again if I were you ! The upgrade only cost a measly £39.00 inc VAT which is simply bargain territory, when compared to the wallet-busting monstrosity that is Photoshop CS3 ! They have a free 30-day trial at:

Best regards
Richard

Richard,

Thanks for the advice but this is where reality sets in: I have long since moved away from Windows altogether so I have "lost" the ability to run PSP. I say "lost" because I have found more than capable open source solutions that do everything I need them to.

I use Cinepaint, Gimp, Digikam and Ufraw nowadays.
