Hi,
new to the forum.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me if a 500 Super DG Flash will work with a K10D?? I heard it requires a software upgrade or something.

If not, I'll have a barely used flash available for sale.

Hello,

It depends on the serial number of the flash. Older units need a software upgrade from Sigma that is free.

You should try it on the hotshoe and see if it functions properly. If not you can send it Sigma for a free firmware upgrade.

It wilkl work on the hot shoe WITHOUT the firmware upgrade. It just won't work properly in wire less mode. Without the upgrade, the flash in wireless mode is out of synch with the shutter "X sync", so the only illumination you get is from the on camera flash.

I run a Sigma 500 ST (non-super) with my K20D and it seems to work just fine however I don't use wireless flash.
