Alien Bees B1600 Flash Unit and Yongnuo YN560-TX

I have the YN560-TX for Nikon Flash Transmitter and just purchased an Alien Bees B1600 flash unit. Anyone know what do I need to do/purchase to link my YN560-TX to the Alienbees? Thanks

Yep. They come in pairs. Get the 603NII, the Nikon version, yellow box on right. That way, you can use it on your hot shoe. The Canon version won't line up with Pentax hot shoe pins, at least it doesn't on K5 and K5IIs bodies. The PC cable that came with your Bee will work. Yongnuo RF-603N II Wireless Flash Trigger Kit RF-603II N3 B&H

So 560TX in hot shoe and 603N II attached to Bee sync port with PC cable or you can also fire the bee optically if you're firing a YN 560II it can see the flash from. I often have have Moms triggering my Bees with their pop-up & smart phone flashes in a open studio.

You can also put the 603N II on your hot shoe and piggy back any existing triggers on it's hot shoe while remotely controlling any YN 560 III power & zoom with the 560 TX hand held. I've done that were I had two set-ups, one with a pair of Bees & and YN560III and the other with an Einstein and pair or YN560III's. 603N II in hot shoe and NPT-04 on top firing Bees.

.

I received the RF-603II N3 today. Trying to (but unsuccessful so far) connect the 560 tx to the 603.

Did you set the 560 TX to:

a. 603 Communication Mode - Long press of Hz/FN
b. Channel Setup matches - Long press of Zoom/CH

Step 5 of 560 TX Instruction

Should I set the dip switch inside the 603 to channel 1?

They have to be the same, just like setting up a flash. I've no reason to change so I leave everything on Channel 1. .

Got it to work!! Awesome. I assume no way to adjust the intensity of the AB flash via the Yongnuo YN560-TX? Either way, the mere fact that this will work via wireless is great!

Glad you got it to work. To remote control power on Alien Bees, you'd need these: CyberSync+ Receivers and Cyber Commander
