Why does not come on ?

I've tried every button and every setting. I've read the book.

I want this thing to come on when I say. It won't.

This thing refuses to flash when there is light outside ( or inside). Does not matter what mode. I need it to function as a fill flash. It has never done that from day one. Is there a setting I've missed?

I've tried every button every mode

Can you post a picture of your camera and flash, set up and ready to go. From behind so we can see the LCD and flash display. We really need to see what you have got set already to be able to help. Make sure the power switch is fully over, not in the wireless position (assuming on-camera flash). Does your flash fire when you press the Test button?

I went through both books again. I needed it set to M and high speed sinc.

I noticed the 18-135 way over exposes when wide angle. But works fine zoomed in and prime lenses are working great.

I set the camera focus and light gathering to green. Before I had it on one point.

I'm pretty happy that I am moving forward.

The batteries have to be pretty fresh as well.
