Sigma EF 530 DG Super P-TTL

For those of you interested in the Sigma 530 Super, I just got one from Tristate (Camera Accessories: Computer store, office equipment, camera equipment) for less than $236 delivered. Got it in just 3 days.

I just got the "ST" version of this flash yesterday. It's about $50 cheaper, lacks the LCD & undoubtedly some other useful options.

However, I've tested it just a bit and it sure seems to do the job. It pivots up and down, as well as horizontally, so it's great for bouncing, etc.

It's really still a bit too early to tell, but so far my impression is good.

I had a chance to use the super for a few pictures this evening. It has a very complete handbook with it that I will need to study, but just using it on p-ttl and it seemed to work well with the K-10D. It was a whole lot better than the old Sunpak 383 that I have been using. It seems well constructed, and as mentioned above for the ST it also pivots up and down and left to right. I report more as I get into using it.

I have the 530 Super ... and it is a top lens indeed.
The manual has got a hell of a lot of info in it that I am still trying to get my head around.
So many features. So far that I ahve been using it in P-TTL mode and it is great.

I love the flexibility of tilt/swivel .. especially when it comes to potrait orientated shots. So far so good ... and i like the little flip-out diffuser as well ... works a charm.
