A followup to the ceiling bounce issue: I went to Pentax Switzerland and they did test my camera and flash in front of me. They did found out that it was a problem with the flash and swapped it with a new one. Just like that!

I did some tests at home again and now it works perfectly. Apparently it was a problem with the zoom setting: the guy tried to set it manually and only at 48mm it showed that behaviour. Very strange.

I am very impressed with Pentax. I am for sure staying with Pentax gear for a long time to come.

Thanks to all for your help.

Cheers
David

Interesting thread.

I have similar problems with my K10 & AF-360.

Ceiling bounce generally works OK when I set the flash to A mode, but in P-TTL the pictures come out significantly underexposed about 1/2 of the time.

Odd. My Sigma DG ST 500 works like a treat.
