Confirming now that the JJC QTS-4 cable is indeed the one to put between Godox PB960. Tried and works flawlessly with my AF-500 FTZ.

I would say that pretty much any flash can be modified to accept external power -- trouble is, some of these units have very little room inside and there is always the possibility that you open it up only to not be able to put it back together. Worse, if you don't know what you are doing you could get a severe shock from the internal capacitor or alternatively break something internal. So yes, it is possible. But you might want to consider a "dummy battery" solution instead (google it).
If you do get shocked, you might never forget it.. and it will leave a small, melted circle of skin where the current runs through (until it heals)... so I hear..

These devices carry some rather incredible charge for just wielding a few AA batteries.. don't be caught off guard or naive about it.

Are the 360 and 540 flash doors a ripe subject for 3D printing?

Last Sunday I went to an Amateur Radio Field Day and a group Blog | SparkCC were giving demonstrations of 3D printing.

I mentioned the above and the chap I spoke with thought it would be a possibility. I did suggest what was needed was a way to scan an object and to create a CAD file from the scan. That's a tad harder.

The chap I spoke with used Autodesk Fusion 360 which is, apparently, still free! Autodesk? Free? He showed me a number of his CAD files. I think I might have a play with the software.

Really? CAD and 3D modeling applications tend to be expensive as hell, some are more expensive than any standalone adobe product.

Yes, still free. I have installed it. Maybe, once they have hooked us on the software, they'll charge for it.
