100Watt CFL 5000K light bulbs

I bought a 4-pack of these bulbs at Walmart to use as "therapy lights," thinking it might help with the long winter days with no sunshine. I tried them while shooting some still life photos and they have worked great! I especially like the lack of heat produced compare to other bulbs. The 5000K temperature allows me to use the auto white balance with excellent results.

I don't know.... maybe this is old news, but I thought I'd pass it along, FWIW.

I already have lighting, but that looks like a pretty good deal that you found.

I recently bought some 5000K daylight LED bulbs for the same reason and they do lift my spirit on dark, gloomy days. Not bad for 8.5 watts per bulb.

They do, indeed lift the spirnts! I opted for the 100 watt equivalent type and replaced most of the bulbs in my house with them, as well as the night lights outside. It's amazing how much light they actually give off at night.... and use considerably less power than the incandescent bulbs.

The 5000K temperature works wonderful for still life photos. Walmart has them, a four-pack, for less than $6.00 IIRC.
