weird setting of 540FGZII

I can't find the slave mode under the wireless P-TTL mode, only master and control mode.
Is this right or something wrong with my setting?
Thank you guys.

What does the manual says about how to set it to slave mode?

The slave modes now come within the new Function Menu on the MKII flashes. There's a full rundown in my Guide', plus images of the controls and interface, in my Guide' .... download from the link below my posts.

The P-TTL slave mode setting is a bit hard to find. Press MODE to change the flash to P-TTL W, then press SET, turn the wheel until SLAVE is displayed in the LCD, and then press SET again (page 59 of the manual).

Yes, that's what he wanted to know, of course. Mostly I think the new design and interface of the newer Pentax flashes is better than the old, but really perhaps in this particular case the old dedicated button for 'M/C/S' was better ....

Yeah, it does seem that some things got sacrificed in the redesign. It looks like the engineers wanted to separate P-TTL wireless modes from non-P-TTL modes and overshot the deadline. Mind you, if one works exclusively with P-TTL it's not terribly convoluted and the engineers likely expected that to be the norm, but for those going back and forth between systems it gets fiddly.

Thank you all guys.

Unfortunately, the problem still exists.

These are the only two I got. and furthermore, this condition happens in my two MK II models. That makes me believe there's some

The slave mode is only available in manual wireless mode.

Did you set the channel and sync the flash to the camera? The former is in the function settings and the latter is done with the flash on the camera. That has to be done before using P-TTL slave mode.

Got it and done!!!
The channel must be set at SL 1 only, not at SL 2.

Thank you very much!!!

Great, glad its sorted .... The SL1 and SL2 setting is not the channel, that is the Slave Mode (which I confused and thought you were asking about originally)..... SL1 is for normal wireless operation, and SL2 is for basic optical triggering from another flash in manual. SL2 triggering is manual mode only.

Yap, it's figured out finally.
Thanks a lot for the comments.
