Flashpoint R2 TTL 2.4G Wireless Remote System For Pentax - Discontinued

The long anticipated R2 TTL 2.4G Wireless Remote System for Pentax being developed by Godox for Adorama is now listed as Discontinued on their website. Adorama had listed the development of the R2 trigger since early spring. This is really a disappointing development as many on this forum having been looking for a TTL HSS combination trigger and remote system for our Pentax cameras.

To my knowledge the only leaves the Acon R930 that supports both TTL and HSS for Pentax cameras. If you don't want TTL the other two options for HSS are the Cactus V6ii and Priolite.

Very disappointing. Not enough of us are demanding this flash connectivity to the vendors. I'm tired of Nikon, Canon, and Sony having all the good stuff!

It's dissapointing to learn that. Now, let's hope that Metz will not delay or cancel their.

Pity Adorama seemed to drop the Pentax version.

Godox (who were making the Flashpoint trigger) also still haven't done a Pentax version of the X1 trigger the Flashpoint was based on - just offering X1C (Canon), X1N (Nikon), and X1S (Sony). No sign of an X1 P .

GODOX PHOTO EQUIPMENT CO.,LTD Remote Controller

Hopefully Metz and Yongnuo will now step up to the plate and do a nice set of triggers for radio P-TTL.

I've emailed both Godox and Adorama about this, so at least they know that people are wanting these. Personally I gave up waiting and got the Cactus V6 II transceivers, but it can't hurt to have options, and if Godox sort this out then there's no reason why they couldn't do a Pentax version of the X1-derived Broncolor RFS 2.2 transmitter. And then if Broncolor has a Pentax option, what would that mean for Profoto, and so on.

According to Lighting Rumors the Metz system is only being developed for Canon, Nikon and Sony. No mention of Pentax. Metz WT-1 wireless TTL flash triggers announced for Canon, Nikon & Sony | Lighting Rumours

I was patiently waiting for this system, HSS is great. That being said, selling my K-1 and primes has become quite the reality to have a legitimate HSS system. Sigh...

If you're not looking for TTL then you should consider the Cactus V6 II. It works great for HSS on Pentax and you can also use it as an HSS-enabler with another trigger (for example a Profoto Air) on top.

Hi guys, I acquired the CactusV6II recently and it work with the RF60 for HSS. I use a K3 with it. Now if the V6II can trigger HSS, I am pretty sure if the X1 (nikon or canon) is mounted on top of the Cactus V6II, it'd fire the Godox600Hss system...

??

I use an Acon trigger with my K-1 and primes.

Why is it not 'legitimate'?

Indeed. Acon radio triggers do PTTL and HSS competently out-of-the-box.

And if anyone want a 'real' [ie pro priced] 'legitimate' HSS solution for Pentax, there is also the Priolite flash system, of course.

Still, I really do hope Metz come on board the PTTL/HSS party bus soon with their [re-badged Chinese] radio trigger, to expand the consumer HSS options for Pentax.

Check this link out on how to achieve HSS with a Cactus V6ii on the K-1 with Godox 360 flash https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/190-pentax-k-1/330535-hss-pentax-k-1-cact...ml#post3783865
